In this section you can find out more about Alan's work in Parliament. Alongside speaking in debates, asking ministerial questions and raising matters that are important to residents Alan has a number of other parliamentary roles. Currently he is the Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Ministers in the Ministry of Justice led by the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice David Lidington. As PPS, Alan will act as a vital link between the Government and Conservative backbench MPs as new legislation is formulated.
Alan is also Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In the role, Alan has been working hard to support and promote the 4IR in Parliament, and to encourage the Government, Parliamentarians, academia, the private sector, and other stakeholders, to engage with 4IR-related issues. This work is essential to Britain’s economic success in the post-Brexit world, and to creating the businesses and jobs of the future, that will ultimately bring prosperity to the people of Havant and the United Kingdom as a whole.
