Havant Falkland Island's Commemoration Parade

As the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War approaches, Local MP Alan Mak announces the timing of a commemoration parade to remember the sacrifice made by service members and commemorate the liberation of the islands. The parade will be held Sunday the 19th of July, 2022. In attendance will be Alan Mak MP, the organiser of the parade, and representatives from the Falkand Island's Assembly.

The Falklands War began on 2nd April 1982 when Argentine Armed Forces, then under the leadership of President Leopoldo Galtieri, invaded the Falkland Islands, a UK Overseas Territory. In response, the UK Government sent a task force to recover the Islands and restore UK sovereignty.

The Commemoration Parade will begin at the British Legion (4 Brockhampton Ln, Havant PO9 1LU) and end at St. Faiths Church (1 West Street Havant PO9 1PR). After the parade, there will be a wreath-laying followed by a church service.
